THINKING OF SELLING YOUR KDX...... DONT!

You know those times when it seems like the only financial option is to sell your kdx? I know the feeling and I can tell you that it's a regrettable decision every trip to the woods you think to yourself I could burp right over that log or climb that bank with my old kdx if I only still had it.BUT. I don't. No bike seems to replace my kdx. Nothing has the Swiss Army knife kinda feel to it. My word to all fellow and future kdx riders is to hold onto those lime green, purple, black beauties as long as you possible can. As joe dirt says keep on keepin on.

Absolutely!! I've already decided that no matter what, I will never get rid of my bike. I've already got too much into it anyways with getting it titled and tagged, dual spprt kit, Lectron carb, supermoto wheels, etc..... I've already spent far more than I even paid for the bike, haha. I feel the same way though..... I've ridden a lot of other buddies bikes, and I'm always more than happy to get back on the green tractor..... Nothing else is like it. I can't tell you how many older guys come up to me at riding areas and start talking about the KDX..... "I used to have a KDX..... I never should have gotten rid of that bike! I regret selling it"

Not to mention there is nice sense of satisfaction when during a race you pass your buddy on your 17 year old KDX with 700+ hours on it, who has been telling you for months that "you need to get a new bike.... You need a KTM.... You need to get off that KDX to get faster.... Blah blah blah", while he's sitting on the side of the trail because his 2017 KTM 450 with 34 hours on it is blown up...... Again.... 6 hours after the last rebuild  :naughty:

I remember towing a buddies orange bike through the woods with the ‘ol KDX for a couple of miles back to the staging area...man I should have got a picture of that. He would have done the same for me but didn’t have to. :kick:

Haha Yup my KDX has towed a couple bikes out of the woods too.... One of which was my buddies XR-200.... Twice actually, which is weird cuz they're super reliable too but he was having some weird issues with his.

I sold one of mine a few years ago and felt terrible because I had to. One Sunday morning after a good night at the Casino (Mississippi not Vegas) I won enough to replace it.
Saw on Craigslist-woke up the wife and headed back to TN. Got a mint 2003 for 1400.00. Never getting rid of it. I have added a few more to the Green Fleet since then

Here are pics I have now

How do I add pictures? im sure this has been covered so sorry for asking again...

I've been using Flickr to host pictures..... Upload then go to photostream, and in the bottom right click the little share arrow, BBcode tab on the top far right, choose picture size then just copy and paste the code in your message here

You have to be a supporting member (at least $5 I think) then you can load pics directly. Instead of hitting "quick reply" at the bottom of the page click on "post reply" near the top of the page. That brings up the attachment option like Julien has in his picture and then you can load from your phone, tablet, or laptop.

Every time I've taken my bike to a public riding spot someone talks to me about how they had one, knew someone who had one, what great bikes they are, or someone asks if its for sale. One guy told me it wouldn't last one day for sale parked at the entrance to a hare scramble because all the old timers would be fighting over who's getting it lol.

My buddy said "damn that thing gets a lot of attention, its a conversation piece."

All that = don't sell it!

I agree. I still have a hybrid and a 220. See nothing that could replace them.
For anyone wanting a KDX Hybrid, John has one listed in the boneyard that I built a few years ago and never rode.
Both the KDX and the KX125 were spotless.
I sold it to him a year or so ago.
I've thought about buying it back, but I don't have room in the garage.

I have 3 and should sell 2 of them and let someone else enjoy them. Have been racing the KTM 150 XC-W and am having a ball on it.

I sure appreciate this thread, and it's so true. Any time I mention the KDX someone perks up. "Those are good bikes.", "I've been looking for one of those. " are pretty normal comments.
And on the rare occasion I actually stretch it's legs, it's like the first ride feels again. Man, such a good bike. Maybe I should help it not look so scrappy. Makes a great sleeper!

I sold two to a couple different friends of mine.
I often hear how much they love them.
And they say not to sell vehicles to family or friends.
Not so with a KDX.
