New kdx owner
Time for an introduction. I just picked up my first kdx. Ive rode 2 stroke motorcross bikes forever, but wanted something for tighter woods trails. Found an 01 220 that runs great but needed some tlc. It is getting new springs front and rear, radiator guards, skid plate, all new plastics and graphics fmf woods pipe, brakes all the way around levers, basically a full tune up. Below are some pics and progress pics. I did find the left radiator is bent pretty bad so if anyone has a good left radiator for sale let me know. If not I guess i will order a set of ebay tig welded radiators. Ill update as I have time to make progress.
The homemade shock spring tool I made for my wifes old quad came in handy. Took a gamble on a used cr500 spring based on some research. They are 5.5kg so perfect for my weight.
Cleaned up and antiseized the swingarm bolt.
New grips and levers.
More to come as I have time.

Welcome, check in to Myler's for radiator repairs. I've been using them for years. 1-800-367-7699

Welcome to the site. You will love that 220. They say the stock piston has a habit of exploding for no reason and it is highly recommended that you make sure it is a after market piston!
I've got a full PC exhaust on mine, did the shim stack mod to the forks and got the RB mods done. The thing rips!

Look in the index under "suspension". You'll find complete directions. The shim mod makes a big difference although still not as good as well set up USD Forks. But it's free'! I originally removed 2 shims from the stack. I'm going to remove two more.
