Hello From Seguin Texas.
I just bought a KDX220. My question is...Is the stock needle adjustable?
Thanks
Matt

Welcome to kdxrider. :partyman:

The stock needle has five clip positions on the KDX220R.

Thanks Jason, so is there a tutorial about how to access that little bugger? I have taken the top off and looked at the area where the spring /throttle cable go down into where the needle sits, But I cant figure out how to access the needle. Help!!!
Thanks

Once you pull back the spring and wiggle the cable out of the slide, you take a socket (6 or 8 mm I believe), and loosen the hex that has the groove in it for the cable to run down... kind of hard to explain, but once you get the cable out of the way, you can only see 1 hex inside of the slide. Just hold the slide in your hands when doing this, I wouldn't try clamping it or anything in fear of damaging it.

6mm. Don't tighten too much when you reinstall, you'll crush it.

Ok,
After fiddling with it, I find that the bike runs quite well with the needle clip in the first position.(leanest setting).
Is there any danger of leaving it there(possible damage) and does that indicate that my jetting is still too rich and I should go back to the 2 or 3 position and go leaner with a 38. I'm at 40 now.
Thanks

Hi mskinner
Jetting can get a little involved, not sure if you can find your answer on the procedure here but plenty of info on the net, I'll bet you can even find a video on YouTube.

I removed the airbox lid and opened up the breathing with a new filter, and that made all the difference.
