Hello everyone! New here and just picked up a 2002 KDX220 last night. I have been riding a 94 YZ250 in family enduros with my kids but feel this KDX will be a better fit. Looking forward to reading all the wonderful things I can do to this bike to make it the perfect woods racer.

Welcome and congrats as well. FIrst order of business will be to check for the OEM piston and replace it. It's an expensive time bomb.

Thanks guys! I will probably end up doing a top end job regardless. Owner said he had it for 6 years with no extra work done to the bike. IMO better safe than sorry.

Yea... I would before you even ride it anymore. I had one explode on me very shortly after bringing it home.

Welcome to the forum! The KDX is an awesome platform, you will love it. It absolutely kills it in the woods!
