What a great forum you guys have. I've been lurking and joined today.

Been away from bikes for about 10 years. When deciding to get back in the game the KDXs seemed like the right way to do it. All of my criteria met from when I used to ride without having to part with Orange bike money.

I recently aquired the 97 KDX200. Replaced cables, changed fluids, new air filter, greased and replaced linkage bearings as needed, added MSR Raptor clutch perch and lever. Next up....suspension service but not until I get a ride or two in.

Thanks for all the great info here!

Might want to check the piston/clean the power valve parts.

Congratulations on the purchase!

Piston and powervalve, may have to move those to top of to do list.

It's the standard green fenders, tank, and shroud. I'd post a pic but don't see a way to with my tiny outdated Iphone at the moment.

Thanks!

Good looking bike.
If you had a choice to date supermodels for the rest of your life or ride dirt bikes, would you choose a 2-stroke or a 4-stroke?

doesn't look bad
the plastics look really good for the age of the bike (the bare metal on the frame where the boot rubs during shifts shows she has a few miles on her

seeing as how your not using your kickstand, you can probably sell that for close to what you paid for the bike

on a side note, I bet your not worried one of those sheets of rockwall is gonna come loose, are you?

Thanks fellas!

Worn off frame paint prompted some grip tape install last night. Idea curtesy of kdx rider.net of course.

I didn't realize the kickstands are worth serious cash. I'm exclusively a trail rider so I'll use the side stand for sure. Had it up on old homemade stand for a good dose of maintenance.

My sheet rock is gonna fall off?

I meant that the other way around, it looks like your screws are spaced at about 1/3 of what mine are
