Hey, New to the forum and new to KDX's

Hey, New member here but have been a long time creeper, some really great information here. I dont currently own a KDX but have been looking into acquiring one for some time. Specifically I am interested in building a KDX hybrid. I currently race and ride a 2012 KTM 150SX but I really enjoy building bikes and am seriously considering a KDX/ hybrid as my next build. I love my KTM but am thinking I want to build something more specifically geared towards XC/Enduro racing. My reason for being interested in the KDX are mostly because of its powerplant I think the chassis is great for a play bike but I feel I wont be able to get the performance out of it I want to be competitive in racing. Excited to start my KDX journey and look forward to any suggestions and feed back people have in regards to acquiring and building on the KDX.
