New KDX200 Owner in SC

Post by bullittben »

I just rode my "new" 2000 KDX200 for the first time this afternoon. It's a super clean bike, totally stock except for an FMF Gnarly Pipe and Power Core silencer. My only previous bike was a Suzuki DR200SE, so this is a rather large jump in the power department. It felt great today. The bike felt super comfortable and power was unreal but still controllable. It's all I expected and more. I'm a big guy, so I needed a better bike but I do ride with my 10 year old on his 4 wheeler, so I needed something capable of trails and slower speeds. It's gonna be hard to stay off the throttle though!

I decided to add some pics of the bike now that I had time to clean the stickers off of it. It looked like a bag of stickers threw up on it. The bike is a 2000 but the original owner changed graphics somewhere along the way. I also have another set of shrouds with Factory Effex KDX graphics. They look like they're brand new, so I think I will save them until I damage these. I also ordered a Trail Tech Kickstand today after finding that info on this forum. I use my bikes to patrol my property, etc, so I need to be able to park it and get off without a tree!

My brother lives in the upstate and they're members at Durhamtown in GA. We will probably go there quite a bit to hang with them. That's the main reason I upgraded bikes. I have about 40 acres here with trails etc to ride at home with my son. So far I love this bike though. This thing rips in the woods even with my 220lbs sitting on it!

I'm in the Upstate as well and the family has been to both CAW and Durhamtown several times. The boys prefer Durhamtown but are happy to go to either every chance they get. Wish we had land at the house to ride without having to load up and travel.

Hey man, I'm on the GA/SC line off 85. When it gets warmer holler if you want to come down and ride Curahee mountain in Toccoa.

alright commrad! Just got finished cleaning it up after getting sloppy at Durhamtown this past weekend! Learned that I love riding in the woods, but I'm scared to death of big jumps on their tracks! Maybe when I get a little more comfortable on it.....

I'm trying to hunt down some OLD trails around here besides NTL forest. I found one of the old fire roads I use to ride that is now a pretty decent single track but a downed pine put an end to my exploration. Way to low to get under and too high to go over with no way around it (it's the mountains, can't climb a wall and some of the hollers around here you're not getting out of with out tow gear and a winch lol).
