The names shaun and i just aquired a 98 kdx. Moved to the north west outside seattle. Neweb to forums but not new to motorcycles and wrenching. Love to ride in any weather and love the views to be seen in WA.
Well on to the bike. Picked her up for 850 with a full set of gear and extras. Rode it a couple months and have found a new favorite bike. The kdx really is the best of both worlds.

Welcome to the NW! I'm also from the Seattle area... Bout 45 N of there ... Do you ever make your way up to walker valley to ride ?

I also bought a 98 220 recently from a buddy in amazing condition with very low hours .. 10-15 with a whole bunch of stuff with it!

I didn't get quite as good of a deal as you haha, but I'm stoked to have such a good condition bike.. Love these things ...

I also live in the PNW just south of seattle and ride all over around here with my KDX. Rode some amazing mountain trails this summer and raced the kdx out in the desert this last spring. Great bike and has grown to be my favorite bike I have owned. Let me know if you want to go riding sometime I ride year round
