Hello from Georgia :)

Post by superman27e »

I've already posted here a few times, but figured I'd post here too. Anyways, I started riding when I was 5 years old. Started on a Honda 70. Sold my bikes a long time ago, and finally getting a good job that would allow me to ride again, I got a 1999 kids 220. Where I live, finding used bikes for sell is rather difficult without traveling 3 hours away. I found one that was 2 hours away that wasn't in the best shape cosmetically. Needed New plastics, the guy spray painted the frame and pretty much everything else......red and black. I don't know if he was trying to make it look like a Honda, orrr.

Anyways, he wanted $800 for it. He wasn't getting that much from me for the bike, so I talked him down to $650.
Now I just put a new shifter on it, have a new back tire on the way and I'm gonna order New plastics all the way around, New top end, and new handle bars this week. My plan is to give this abused kdx a new life.

Can't get a pic up, so here's the ad I responded to with pics.

very interesting bike
I guess you cant argue taste

just curious, is all the plastic painted or was it molded in red?

it has a plastic tank right ?

from a distance it looks like the elusive SR version with the oilinjection

(only KDX 220 I've ever heard of having red plastics)

http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/ ... r%2095.htm

either way, these bikes are great and with some back maintenance taken care off you will have a great ride for sure

the company that makes those rear fenders is called maier
the run about 75 bucks
one of our members here (doug) actually has a white one on ebay for 85 right now

number plates you can use pretty much whatever with minimal effort

when you look for a new front fender consider the KXF unit, its a direct bolt on and the design looks about a decade newer
