New to me KDX 220

Post by TimmyD »

Hey everybody! Just got a new to me 2002 KDX 220 about a month ago. This is also my first 2 stroke, and the KDX is defiantly an upgrade over my last bike, a TTR 230. The bike was pretty much brand new when we got it, as we bought it from the original owner and it only had 72 miles on it! :supz: I'm 15 and am very new to the KDXs. Just got a new piston for it, as my dad and I have read a lot about how the stock ones a junk. If any of you guys can maybe help me with how I should set it up, that would be great. We ride a lot of rocks, tight single track, roots, etc. I am mainly riding it in PA and in New York in Hancock, for all of you who have done the Quarry Run, you know what kind of terrain I'm talking about. If any of you guys know of anything I can do to make my KDX a bigger beast in the woods, that would be awesome!

Thanks!
Tim

Welcome, and congrats on your new bike. Plenty of good info in scheckaet's thread, as well as in the forums.

Thanks! Yeah, i read the newb thread, and it has a lot of good info in it for somebody like me. And yes, I have heard A LOT about the grenade that is the 220 piston. My dads buddy was sending us stuff all the time when I got it saying that. A new piston is on the way though :supz:
