back on the kdx wagon

Post by canamfan »

I sold my 96 kdx 200 last winter and got a crf250x. Last thursday I bought a 99 220 kdx I just had to get one again, really missed my kdx. The honda is a good bike but I couldn't get used to the four stroke. This is my first 220, it has more torque then the honda. Pretty much a stock bike, PC pipe, no airbox lid it rips. Don't have any pictures. Glad to be back on green.

Welcome back. The 220 has more torque than the 250x? My riding buddies are trying to convince me to move to a 250x or wr250.

The 220 has 13/47 gearing, I had 13/52 on the 250x When crossing logs if you didn't hit them just right with the x it would stall or some call it flame out. With the kdx you can bump your front wheel into an obstacle and compress the forks then hit the throttle and pop over it. I can't do that with the 250x, even with lower gearing. The best thing about the 250x is the electric start, i used it alot.
