Introducing... Maude
Really, just more to introduce the bike. This is a pretty sweet day. I didn't think I'd be able to put together enough coin to purchase an entire bike at one time. I have posted a few threads on the General Q&A section, and lurked for a month or so prior to that. In case I ever forget to mention this again. KDXRider.net is 90% of why I chose a KDX. It's cool to be part of this group.
I got her today in Kremmling, Colorado. 2004 KDX 200 with FMF Turbine Core 2 silencer on it. I thought the bike was 100% bone stock. It's got new bars on it, and the silencer. Other than that, I can't see anything aftermarket. But I'm a dirt bike novice, so I'm sure I missed something.
I can't believe how well kept it is. The engine is clean enough to eat off of. (See pics) He said it was his wife's bike, and the suspension feels really soft and probably needs to be adjusted for my 174 pound frame; Unless she was a heffer. I didn't meet her, so I can't speculate. It's snow packed in my small mountain town, so I can't really run it through the gears. But I got out of second into third, so I think the tranny is good as well. The rear tire is brand new. I tried to show in the images, but not sure if its obvious. But the rear rubber has one ride on it.
I'm going to do all the basic new to me KDX stuff from the forum thread on that subject. Then, I'll likely pimp my dog out for some $ for a skid plate. Change the oil in the case, and then just sit and stare at it until spring.
Thank you to everyone on this board who answered my goofy questions, and got me the knowledge I needed to make a great decision on a bike!

Actually, I have to thank my dad. Without his help I'd still be buying a piece at a time.GKBO wrote:Hey Dude is that better than getting it a bit at a time? Good looking bike.

Great looking bike! Do some reading and see what you need to do as far as your budget can allow and have fun with it. It is hard to tell from the pictures but if that front tire is the stock tire you may want to do an upgrade to that.
Depending on the budget you can probably find some cheap power just from going thru the jetting. A pipe will wake it up a lot too.

It's snow packed up here for at least another two months. But I'm ready!
