Mature individual seeking his youth once more.

Post by chrly »

I have lived in Northern Cal most of my life with my present location about 75 miles north of Sacramento, up against the west side of teh Sierras. I ride a few road courses, some drags and a bit of street. I have a couple of zrxes, a lil ex500 and recently purchased a 2000 kdx 200 which was purchased as a pit bike to take along to the drag strip next season.
I guess the bug has hit once again and if I can get this thing lowered a bit so I can climb aboard, I just might be back in the trail riding business. I am 124 #,5'5" with a 29 inch inseam .
The KDX appears to be about a foot too tall for me :) . We shall see...

Last time I rode seriously in the dirt was 1970 at the Cowbell Enduro in Lake County, Ca. I need not explain that one to anyone riding at the time ..
So here I am looking for some parts to spruce up this fairly abused KDX and I strumbled onto your site..Pretty impressed so far and hope to contribute a bit as we go.

Welcome! :partyman:

BTW, I have a 30" inseam and have no problem on my E-series KDX. I will say, though, the H-series, which you have, is a bit taller than the E and I didn't feel as comfortable on it as I had to tippy toe.

Welcome chrly,

Sounds like we could be neighbors.
I'm in the foothills near Lake Oroville and ride in the Sierras east of me when we get some rain.
I have gotten a lot of experience setting up KDX's with my stable of KDX's and Hybrids, so let me know if you need any tips.
I have a few parts laying around as well.

Put a koubalink on the wifes 1999 200 and shaved the seat foam down, got about 4 inches lower than stock height, also installed bar risers to allow the forks to drop in the tripple clamps.
