hey guys...here i am

Post by diymirage »

hey guys, just a few days ago i traded in my little 88 yamaha DT50LC for a 96 kawasaki KDX 200

growing up in the netherlands ive owned a handfull of 50-70cc bikes like honda MTs, MTXs, suzuki TSXs and even a yamaha DTR

i almost killed myself on the last TSX i had when a VW eurovan run a yield sign and tried to pull out in front of me
took me two days to wake up from that hit and 6 months to learn how to walk again

then i didnt have any bikes for 8 or 9 years untill my sister in law gave me a 73 yamaha RD250 which someone left in the church basement ages ago
i fiddled with it for a while and ended up selling it

then i bought the DT50LC hoping i could register it as a moped but because of the power output and the 6 gears the SOS made me register it as a motorcycle and this forced me to get my motorcycle endorsement

well, once i had the endorsement the 50CC wouldnt do anymore and here we are :)

so far i am loving this bike (though i feel like it takes forever to warm up...maybe i ought to clean the carb)
i have some plans for the future (just read the recommended mod list) but for starters in working on making this bike a little more "roadworthy"
a set of blinkers, an actual horn and proper switches

once i figure out why my photobucket isnt working ill post some pics

Welcome to the site! Read the jetting forum, and that should help you clean up the jetting. They are terribly rich from the factory.
This is my rifle, this is my gun, the YZ to go fast, the KDX is for fun!

Welcome to the site! Glad you survived your eurovan experience to share that with us. I have been thinking about getting my street license; but every time the thought enters my head, someone tells a story.

I don't mind hitting trees. I'm okay with that.

i do enjoy riding on the streets just as much as i do riding in the woods
but i garantee you the trees pay more attentions to bikers then cars do
