Iowa racing contingency program

I had a prefect season this year on the Hybrid 220. Almost like Ricky Carmichael ( I wish)
Got all but one holeshot kdx's start so easy and just hooks up and go. Feels good to win in a sea of orange bikes.
5 of the races were mud runs and one of them I was the only one stubborn or stupid enough to finish.

Holy smokes, you won even your four throwouts ? Outstanding !

Which Hybrid did you ride ? 220 motor in a KX 125 frame ?

Iowa racing contingency program

Thanks I'm running a 2004 KX chassis with a set of 2012 KX250 forks. The motor is a 1996 200 that I got dirt cheap. I put my newly rebuilt 220 top end on it.
It is stock except I am running a 36mm Lectron through a V-Force 3 reeds and fmf rev pipe.
I won a free gold valve kit so that is what is in the SFF front end with a .8 spring with 0mm pre-load. The rear also has a gold valve, and the old style delta valve.
The best part is the Rekluse clutch its like cheating in the really tough stuff. And as everyone know that is what the KDX does best.
My back up bike is my a 1994 hybrid Jeff built. Love that bike too.

How do you like the 2004 Chassis versus earlier 94 - 02' chassis ? Is it noticeably smaller ? Lighter ?

I've got a KDX 250 I'm considering building a Hybrid and my research has concluded that the 2003 to 2007 KX chassis is the lightest but also smallest of the KX chassis.

Great year! Got to race once in Thurman, IA. The soil was perfect. And with all the elevation change it was a blast.

That Thurman race with that loess hills type dirt tacks up real fast. I really like that track!
I got the 94 bike out last weekend to play in the mud and it feels lighter than the 04.
Some of that is the the suspension on the 94 is so plush! I really like the 89 kx forks :supz: and the Öhlins shock.
The 94 is harder to build than the 03 and newer. Going to make another auto clutch for the 94 and that will be my back up bike.
