Ignition Timing

Post by adam728 »

I swear I posted this earlier today, but I don't see it? Hmmm...

Anyway, KDX timing curve. The RM250 compared shows what can be done when a bike has TPS.

Has anyone ever tried one of these on a KDX ?
Their probably very pricey.

Ignition Timing

Post by C George »

Back to the original topic,,,,,,,,,,,,

I got out and did some riding on the 200 this morning and maybe it's just because the combination
of all mods like it , but advancing the timing really woke this thing up !!

I really wanted to turn this into a 220 but now I'm questioning that decision with this change. :?

Click on my signature link to read about an adjustable KDX CDI that allows you to change the timing curve to benefit both mid range and top RPM performance.

Do you have a graph of the three different settings on your CDI unit ?

go to http://www.dragonfly75.com/moto/4curves.html to see the many different timing curves you can have with my adjustable CDI. If you are truly interested in getting the best performance from a KDX then you need an adjustable CDI.

Ignition Timing

Is the area within the 3 marks on the stator plate considered the "safe zone" so to speak? and I'm guessing clockwise(opposite rotation of the crank) is to advance and counter-clockwise is to retard timing?

Thanks. Didn't see anything in the manual mentioning an "adjustable range" but ok I did advanced slightly today, while reassembling
