1993 and 1994 forks are the same. Both have cartridges. I have never heard of a non-cartridge USD MX / off-road fork.

MX racing my 93 KDX....
Great pics and story! That track looks awesome!! I race a 1989 kdx 200 in a vintage 80's 200 cc class, we run some natioal tracks. Broome tioga, budds creek and southwick. The torquey engine is a pleasure to ride for a slow old out of shape fart like me. I upgraded the forks to a pair of conventional kayaba 46 mm off of a 89 kx 250. good luck keep enjoying that kdx!
