Ok I hate this being my first post to ask but.
I read where some people either tried or may be using later model year pistons in the 84-85 models
Can someone please confirm that they have ran this combo
Thanks In Ad vance

The Wossner pv piston has the bottom ring a bit higher on the piston than the Kawasaki pv piston and on the resleeved barrel l have, it stops above the port so there's no issue with the ring end entering the port.

So yes, no need to modify anything but check first as you can't assume that your resleeved barrel is exactly the same as mine.

This is a Kawasaki pv piston in a non pv barrel at bdc.

This is the Wossner pv piston in the non pv barrel at bdc. The ring peg on the bottom is on the left (the Kawasaki ring peg is on the right on their piston) and the ring end is not exposed to the port.

This is the pv barrel and piston. Very different porting and there's no issue with the ring ends.

1986 oem piston is very, very similar,i own a 1985 kdx 200 A3 and i just find the oem 85 and the oem 86 and are almos the same,in fact the only thing they change between this two years are the 86 has a power valve but is air cooled. it also uses the same piston rings.
