E model stator/flywheel on a 1984 KDX200 A model

Hello folks, I've done quite a bit of searching on this board, but I'm not entirely sure I have a good answer. I'm fixing up a 1984 KDX200A, and the flywheel and stator are bad. A magnet is broken on the flywheel and the ignition coil has no continuity. I've read that it's possible to swap out a 1989 and later stator and flywheel. I just bought a set on ebay. I have a few questions:

1. How should I clock the E model stator to get the timing right? Can anyone post a pic for me please?
2. Will I need to use the E model CDI? I can get one easy enough, but is it necessary?

Search on here for some threads on converting 1995 - 2006 flywheel for use on 1986 - 1988. There may be some advice or info that will carry over to what you are trying.

I do not remember anyone mentioning a need to convert to a different CDI.
