Unknown reed valve and pipe

Post by oldman »

My '87 KDX200 has a 240 big bore kit and an aftermarket reed valve. I want to know who makes the reed valve (and the big bore kit). The reed valve has a solid plastic reed and another one under it with square holes in it. Maybe called "2-stage reeds"? Anybody know who makes it or where to gets parts? The expansion chamber has "PSI" embossed in it. Never heard of that.

A picture is worth 1,000 words.

Krause Racing may have made the big bore kit? LA Sleeve?

PSI was a company that made pipes years ago for the KDX and others.
Thank you for participating on kdxrider.net. :bravo:

As said. Let's see some pictures.

Just based on description though, it sounds like Boyesen "Power Reeds"

A pipe with PSI embossed on it is PSI brand pipe. They are still in business: http://www.psipowerinc.com/home.php

Agree with the pic request.

Just fitted new Wossner piston and rings to my '83 240. I'm in AU, it's a Serco kit fitted to mine.
