Restored 82 250

Post by s10gto »

Thought I would share a couple pic's of my friends newly restored 1982 KDX 250. Rebuilt suspension , all new plactices , 3.3 clark tank , tires , ect...... He regeared from 14-52 to 13 -54. Took it for a spin in the yard and   wow crazy low end power. We are going to hit the forest sunday so should be fun!

That REALLY looks good.

Do you have any details on the silencer / spark arrestor? Is it the FMF universal Turbine Core II??

Headlight switch. This is correct for the early years. We moved this one's to the bars.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I'm looking for a replacement tank for my '82 KDX 250. Do you have any info about how the Clarke tank fit? Was there any modification required? It looks like it's sitting up really high in the pictures. I emailed Clarke and they basically told me "it's an aftermarket tank, some modification might be required to make it fit". So no help there.

Thanks for any info you might be able to give!

Gorgeous rebuild!
Do you know if the silencer and tank would fit an `81?
1981 KDX 250. Purchased February 2017. A work in progress
2010 Cervelo S1. I know, no engine, but it is a bike;-)
