I had a place powder coat everything for me, not sure what the name is right now, but it turns out to match the stock grey NOS parts perfectly. Place was called Metal Works in Caledonia, Ontario Canada.
The shock...is the original. Completely cleaned up, pulled apart, new seals, reloaded with Nitrogen and new oil, new bump stop and Spring was painted.

I had the same problem with my 86. Shaft was pitted so no rebuild for that. I sent it to freddette and they had the safe rechromed. They then did a full rebuild and recharge and answered question afterward. Great experience and works great now.bm06352 wrote:Where did you get the shock from?
