Anyone have a recommendation for a good set of levers that fit an 86?
I have been looking online for a set of shorty levers but have been disappointed in the compatibility.
Seems like many of them don't go back that far especially for the brake lever.

I also need a front brake lever for 88 c3. I have already been duped by eBay and got wrong lever. It seems the KDX's require a more unique lever that is much thicker at attaching point to master cylinder

Could you build it up with some washers?fabio wrote:I also need a front brake lever for 88 c3. I have already been duped by eBay and got wrong lever. It seems the KDX's require a more unique lever that is much thicker at attaching point to master cylinder

Yes that can be done, but also had an issue with the lever forward stop and the nipple for the plunger not aligning. I can definitely figure out some Jerry rig....ultimately I would like to find oem lever or good used one

Op have you tried any from an OEM supplier like RMATV?
I'm sure they would take them back if they don't work.

Thanks for the heads up, I think I've looked everywhere but there.

No problem. Like I said, they are good people that normally try to work with you.fabio wrote:Thanks for the heads up, I think I've looked everywhere but there.

Re: Levers for 86 KDX?
Thanks for the suggestion, I found the Motion Pro levers but was looking for the shorter 2-finger levers.
I agree with you on RMATV, just got a helmet (Fly F2 Carbon for $159) from them and had to return because it did not fit.
They sent an e-mail call-tag and the new helmet was at my door 5 days later.

Same here, I was looking for the shortly style lever. I just ended up getting the motion pro and it fits fine. I guess the other alternative would be to get a newer style master cylinder, then there would be lever options out the wazoo
