Chain tensioner locking pin? Cant find on any parts diagram
Was riding my 94 kdx200 the other day noticed my chain came loose. After inspecting it I noticed that a small pin that locks the chain tensioner snail in place was missing. I cant find this part on any parts diagram, what should I do?

Im referring to the cam on each end of the axle that you turn when you want to adjust the slack on the chain. Theres a little pin that fits into the end of the rear fork to lock the cam in place on its notches. The pin on the chain side somehow disappeared the other day.

First, welcome to kdxrider.net. I see that you just joined today.
If the axle nut was torqued to the spec in the service manual, it should not have come loose. Do you have the OEM nut? Did you use a torque wrench and the correct value?
The pins are there to keep the axle from sliding out the back if (like in your case) the axle nut came loose and the wheel and axle combo tried to slide out the back.
From my favorite place to shop for OEM parts (though this one is unavailable):
The pin:

Re: Chain tensioner locking pin? Cant find on any parts diag
It had the oem nut secure. Theres a small notch or pin that sticks out directly in front of the U On the axle mount. This locks the chain ajduster in its position and also keeps the axle from moving forward. I noticed that the brake side has its pin to keep the cam in place. The chain side is missing with an empty hole going horizontally through the rear fork. My chain moved forward on the chain side with the lack of then pin to hold the ajduster cam in place.

OH, WOW! THAT PIN!
Is it possible to drill and tap that hole for a set screw head bolt? The bolt head might need to be sanded down to the correct diameter.

I don't know of a source for that pin other than a donor swingarm. IIWM I'd tap the hole and use a bolt to act as the pin, you can leave the head on the bolt and tighten it down to help hold the adjuster, or just cut the head off and use it like a pin.

I would like to add, use red Loctite when bolting in some fastener for that.
No matter which bolt head shape you go with, I would fasten it down to create some tension on the threads.

You're welcome.
Good luck with it.
Sorry that you had that problem, but in my faulty memory, I don't think I have heard of that problem before. Thanks for presenting a new problem.

I bet this might be the part you need. #92002-1686 Looks like it fits lots of Kawasaki models. I found it for 2003 kdx 220. Hope the link works.

This part on my 2003 KDX 220 has threads on the inside diameter. I have never taken them out, I guess this part has threads to screw into the swingarm? Looks like this part is used in many Kawasaki swingarms.

I dont think i found any threads on it. The hole is smaller in the center and goes all the way through

Thanks for the follow up.
If it were mine, I would try to somehow replicate the original, but with threading.
That is a weird problem.

Re: Chain tensioner locking pin? Cant find on any parts diag
I would just get the appropriate size roll pin and drive it into the swing arm.
