Hi Guys,
My bike is a 1991 SR and it has a 19 rear wheel that's a bit egg shaped, so I want to fit a standard 18. I've purchased one that may have been from a slightly newer bike and the hub it too wide for my swing arm. Is this just because Its too new or is the SR swing arm narrower? I think I'm going to use my original hub, the new rim and get it re laced.
Just wondering if anybody knew for sure?
Thanks Alot
Ed

Re: Rear wheel problem
Which exact model do you have?
Which exact model did the wheel come from?
Are you sure that the 18" rim will work, even if you buy a new set of spokes?

Rear wheel problem
What bike did the wheel come from? Did you try swapping the wheel spacers. All US spec KDX 200/220's from '89 up use the same axle and wheel spacer diameters. I know the SR is a somewhat different animal but I wouldn't think Kawasaki would use a unique swingarm on it.

Re: Rear wheel problem
Thanks for the replies guys, I'm starting to wonder if the wheel I got is for a KDX 125 as the axle would also need to be smaller... Its very hard to find parts in the UK for these bikes it seems.
I'm going to try find a hub and get a wheel built, or failing that get my hub made up onto an 18inch rim.
