Different KIPS covers?

Interestingly I have 2 different KIPS covers

one is sealed, the other has a "run off" hose fitting.

Does anyone know where the run off hose went?

Seem strange as the valve cover volume/size is supposed to be somewhere you can change the power a bit, a hose to something would increase the volume
Thanks

Cant upload an image, spent the last 30 mins stuffing around from this page to that

If you mean the LH side cover, I have never seen one with a hose fitting, would kind of defeat the whole purpose of a resonant cavity. Perhaps the PO modified it for some reason?

My KX250 and YZ250 have them. Amy chance it is not a KDX part? Doesn't sound like it.

I have an 89 KDX and my cover does not look like that; so it's not a first year E-series item.

Based on the size of the nipple could be a drain. My RMX has one in its power valve system which is similar. Or perhaps from a G-model (SR)?
