Just tried to order a gear shift lever and shift rod for my 91 KDX 200. Shop called me back a week later and said shifter is on backorder and the rod is no longer made. Trying Babbitts next. Anyone have other suggestions for locating this? Part number 13161-1170
Thanks in advance.

Re: Shift lever and shift rod
Order parts for the 95-06, should be the same as the kdx bottom end didn't really change much.

Re: Shift lever and shift rod
It's very possible that it's the same part. The difference that I can see is that the E series was sold as two different pieces, the shaft and pawl, separately. The H series was consolidated into one part number and the pieces show to be together on the parts drawing. There is a used H series on eBay for $30 and free shipping, that would be worth checking out. Maybe you can get a good enough look at it to compare to your to see if it will work.

Re: Shift lever and shift rod
Confirmed, shift shaft no longer made. Got a shaft from a KX125. It is a little shorter but seems like it will work fine.

Re: Shift lever and shift rod
Thanks, did not see this until after I purchased one for KX. In looking at the two, I am glad I bought the one I did. It is in perfect condition and I bought it with a lever for $50 total. Both in excellent conditiondavid wrote:It's very possible that it's the same part. The difference that I can see is that the E series was sold as two different pieces, the shaft and pawl, separately.
