spooooge

Post by scheckaet »

My hybrid has a bad case of the drips.
I did not have much of a problem before, but now it's to the point of dripping on the swingarm, it's even coming out of the kips cover
the bike seems to run good (not any worse then before anyway)
I didn't change the jetting and ride about the same way I did with the KDX
The only thing I could think of are:
-the cylinder was not my original one but was stripped and replated (look like a good job)
-I added about a inch or so on the exhaust to mate the cylinder (no spoo there, so my seal is good)
-I shortened the muffler about an inch and a half
-used the kx airbox

Do you all think this may be responsible?
I believe my jetting is 45, 155, 2nd slot from the top on CEK, air screw setting within range

Any thoughts? Time for a jetting session?

Time for a jetting session?
Always time for a jetting session before anything else.
-I added about a inch or so on the exhaust to mate the cylinder
You may find this effects your jetting...esp in potentially needing a needle with a slightly different taper than what's generally recommended on here. Possibly even a slight timing change. 1" added to the head-pipe (sometimes referred to as a 'flex' change) is a lot.

Bike run decent now?

yeah the bike runs good, it's not perfect (i think I'm still a bit rich) but it's as good as it was before.
I'm more focused on the suspension setting right now, so haven't really worked on the jetting (kinda hard when your bike is trying to buck you off like a wild bronco)
I'm hoping to work on the jetting this xmas break after the suspension is sorted out.

Please keep us posted on the jetting.
I'm doing a 200 hybrid, with the 1" pipe extension at the head using an FMF.
RB head and Carb mod...
