hey guys i was wondering if you could take the tranny out of a kx125/250 and make it work in a kdx motor?
real men measure with inches not centimeters

kx125 mine
kx250 dads
kx65 sisters
lt-z250 moms

I don't think the KX tranny parts will play well with the KDX cases. I don't know for sure, but I think it's unlikely.

If you wanted the KX tranny than why not have the KX 250 engine? The transmission is part of what makes the KDX a KDX.

check the part numbers on the trannys...if most of them are the same then it just might work...some fabrication may be involved im sure though...i use HLSM.com for all my part numbers...they have just about every make and model on there in an exploded view.

But why would you want to? You would loose a gear and the rest of it probably wouldn't be good for what a KDX was meant for.

i agree with rbates on this one...the KDX is built and geared for hard trails riding..not high rpm MX racing..but if you REALLY wanted to try a swap..then the part numbers is the way to go methinks

1: no advantage for wood application
2: cylinder and bottom end won't fit (at least not on a 125)

i'd get a 250 and be done with it, easier, simpler, better...

i would inagine so..id look at the 125 tranny assemblies first..probably the closest fit is gonna be there...you must be trying to stay in a specific class i take it?
