Mr. Powerseal has delivered my cylinder, and it is pretty!!

Turns out there was a cra  ck above the exhaust port, so they had to weld it before redoing the coating. I had to rush back to work from home before I could snap a pic, but I'll get one up soon enough so you can see the beautiful job they did.

I wish I had a free weekend to put everything back together, but I have an Army muster formation Saturday, followed by a wedding Saturday evening, and then the Deleware enduro Sunday. Might be able to get some more assembly done on Monday.

Stay tuned!

what was the turn around for your cylinder? They should have received mine last friday, can't wait to get it back.

Two weeks. They said it would have been a bit quicker without the need for the weld.

I'm planning on sending a spare cylinder to them tomorrow. I've gotten everything removed except for an allen head bolt that is directly under the exhaust port.

Have you guys removed that bolt? I'm assuming it needs to come out prior to going to Powerseal.

My cylinder is from an E series. I don't think I had a bolt there.

Woot!

Happy to see you went with the re-plate. It's worth every penny. Looks like powerseal did a great job for you!

The shop did all the plugging. I think they just use silicone plugs.

Slow at work, today. Hard twiddling my thumbs at the office when I know I could be at home putting stuff together...

Coming right along...

I got the new powervalves installed, cleaned up the good used tooth rod and center valve, put in the Wiseco, gapped the rings, slapped on Mr. Black's head, torqued up the top end, dropped it into the frame, slid the RB carb into place, popped on the Devol guards and rads, dressed the damper tower (powder coat got inside, and the pin wouldn't slide in), installed the clutch cable (the old KDX--probably going to replace soon or go with an auto clutch eventually).

If I get a few free evenings this week, it just might be ready for a test rip this weekend.

All finished! Except for one or two things...

I just need to put on the chain, fill up the fluids, neaten up the wiring, wire up the headlight, put on the Scotts, and get handguard inner mounts that don't interfere with the front brake line.

Whee!

I have some reproduction KDX "Uni Trak" swingarm stickers somewhere, but I can't find them. I think they'll tie the whole thing together...
