rm/kdx crossbreeding?

Post by dentvet »

i just saw an ad for a '01 Rm 125, cheap. I think they come with 48 or 49 mm showas up front? Is this chassis doable (or desirable) for a fork swap or hybrid duty with my 98 kdx200? I have searched around and haven't seen much mention of rm/kdx inbreeding. Perhaps there is a reason why.

I don't know of any reason why not, but I imagine most do KX's because they are Kawi's and others do CR's because they line up well and the aluminum frame. I can't imagine that the RM engine would be much smaller than the CR or KX 125. I'd measure the bolt locations and the distance from the swingarm to the sprocket and mounts. You'll never know for sure until your try.

Yeah, I'd get the RM and ride it a bit, if you can. Start measuring and planning......
