So far so good during what little bit of testing i've got to do. Still go a few minor things to take care of...
Still haven't been hard on it because the cylinder isn't broken in yet.
These 100 degree days im not doing much outside at all.....

Really good looking bike!

Where are you located in Middle Tennessee?

I'm in Crossville, which some people call middle, and some east.

So it really has been hot, I thought I was just getting soft! Sounds like a plan, when it gets cool, like in the 80s and the humidity gets below say 75% we'll get out and play some.

That's a great-lookin' bike.

BTW - There are several of us KDX guys in middle Kentucky and not far away from TN (I can be in Knoxville in less than 4 hours). So if you guys put together a ride post it in the "Group Rides" forum, maybe a few of us can make it down there.

Jeb,
Would love to have some of you guys down, however we are more south of Nashville than close to Knoxville. None the less we will extent the invitation, when it gets a little cooler.

Maybe we can all get together and ride Brimestone or Coal Creek in October. I will be home then (I'm a sailor and work 60 on, 30 off).

Seems like we're running short of good riding areas in Tennessee.

Looks great!! Have you thought about putting the headlight back on? It's been hot here in Colorado, so a couple of us have gone out riding after dark. Adds a whole new twist to the ride, get to see a lot more elk up close!

Looks very nice. Do you mind if I ask you a few questions?

Do you happen to have a picture of your bottom mount?

Did you cut and move over your head stay frame mount?

Is that a KX or KDX silencer?

Did you ream out the rear mounting hole on your cases or have it done? If you did it, what tool did you use?

Riding impressions yet?

marrk,
Yes i did think about adding a headlight and may do it later down the road but for now im going to run her like this for awhile and see how everthing else works out.......

jc ,
i'll try and get you a bottom mount pic , reused the stock ones , just had to shorten them alittle...
Yes i did cut the headstay bracket off pretty flush with the frame then moved it over to the right and down abit for tank clearance...
Silencer is a 03 KX 250....
Ebeck and I done some motor swapping. The motor came out of his last hybrid build. I used his bottom end (which was reamed out for the larger KX shaft ) and added my newly rechromed 220 cylinder . All i had to do was have the inside of my swingarm and the bushings cut and then i was able to put the motor in and start mocking up my mounts.... I still haven't got it broke in good yet so i haven't been on it real hard yet, but im hoping to get it and my KDX both together on a trail or track this weekend and kinda do a side by side testing......

This kinda shows how the headstay bracket was moved over to line up with the left side on the head bracket. The head bracket is wider than the frame bracket so you have to space it out with washers or in my case these bolts which lined it up just fine...NOTE, i did later have to add a washers on the lower bolt to line the left brace up alittle better....

Here is what kind of clearance i had between my tank and bracket. I still went ahead and ground alittle more off later to besure i had enough...
This one was taken after tacking in , the other was after being fully welded in......
Hope this answered you questions.........
