I hear ya on the black plastics. My 400ex has black plastics and they look terrible... unless I coat them in tire shine lol

Bike is looking good! What are you using the led's on the bark busters for? Turn signals? Or for trail lighting? Do you have any more or any close up photos of it? I sure wouldn't mind putting my turn signals there on my dual sport...

Ill post up some pics tonight. The main reason for them is so my dad can pic me out at the races. And sense i removed the headlight its nice to have a light up front on the trails. That way when in a group if someone looks back its easier to spot someone through the trees.

Tusk has you covered there. All my dual sports get these guys.

Turn signals $25: https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/11 ... rn-Signal-

And if you don't want to make the holes in your existing guards/lazy like me, new plastics $15: https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/96 ... gnal-Hole-

250/125 update

Post by royadams »

I bought some led stips, taped them to the back side of the busters. Turned them on and marked the leds location, they were bright enough to shine through the plastic. Drilled some holes and put a little clear epoxy in the holes to keep the dirt out.

Just about got it wrapped up. A little grip tape on the frame should do it. And fab a small piece of plastic to fill the gap in between the shroud and number plate. Maybe a new front rim, if i decide to keep the bike.
A little run down about the bike
Flex bars
2011 kxf radiator shrouds, cyra stadium front plate and fender
Lectron carb
Efm auto clutch
Left hand rear brake
Senge graffix kit
Ive got two rear wheels one with trials tire for single track.one with knobbie for the fast stuff.
Bruce's Suspension terain tamer revalve, really nice one of the best setups ive ever rode.
Fmf fatty pipe, turbine core silencer
Complete engine overhaul
New chain guides, rollers and swingarm protector
Heated hand grips, if you ride in the cold weather this is one mod you dont want to skip. While all my buddies are warming there hands on there pipes, i just sit there with steam rolling off my gloves.
Thats about it any ??? Or pics just let me know
Now lets go get this bike dirty

Me and the bike survived today. The bike did great, me not so much. It was dusty, rough and tight. My lack of riding recently made it real tough on me. Within the first mile i got arm pump, and it took most of the first lap for it to go away.

WOW! What a great looking bike. Nice effort on your part. Cool that you got out to the race and made it back in one piece (bike too). :bravo:

Here's the progression of my kdx 250. Crazy i did not take a pic of it when i bought it for $350.
Image
Next it was a rm250 hybrid
Image
Image
Then i hit a tree bent my forks on the suk.found a really rough 99 kx125
Image
Road the suzuki with the kx forks for a while then figured what the heck lets try to shoe horn the 250 in the 125 frame that spawned the kdx250/kx125 hybrid
Image
Then the remake. i wonder what will be next

Bike looks awesome man! You did an awesome job. And I dig the handguards. Thanks for link, I've seen those tusk ones, but I think I like the way you did them better. Glad to hear she's running good! How do you like the flexx bars? I've never tried them. A buddy had them on a quad, just seeing how much they move when he rode scared me lol and how much trouble was it to get the autoclutch goin? Were you able to get that as a kit or did ya piece it together.
