I got them from motorcycle superstore, they were very cheap but did not fit right. They had to be cut down, believe they are made by polisport and I think they tried to make a universal guard for various years and it did not quite work. What do you expect for $9.99 .

That is actually a homemade plate, just got a scrap piece of 3/16 aluminum and cut it out. Might be a little over board on the thickness but has held up great so far.

Hmm, somehow I missed this one. That is one super clean build! :supz: I can't wait to get my hybrid done.

I missed it too. Very nice work!

We need a ride report. How does it handle? Is it comfortable?

I have been riding the hybrid for about 10 months now with stock suspension, so, a full ride report on handling might have to wait another week. Sent shock and forks off to Factory Connection for a re valve and some new springs, should be getting them back tomorrow. So far the KX chassis feels a lot lighter, even though it only mine only weighs about 15 lbs. less than a stock kdx, the weight placement makes it feel about 50 lbs. lighter. Definetly a lot more flickable, easy to push bike around at speed and readjust direction on the trails. Was worried about the more compact rider area, but, after installing an adjustable top tripple clamp, high bend bars, and bar risers along with the tall seat, I feel right at home. I think once the suspension is set up for the type of riding I do it will be the perfect bike. Very happy with the outcome and encourage everybody to build one. Will update after a ride with my new and improved suspension, hopefully after this weekend. Come on UPS!

I found a Pro Taper on Ebay, older model but was brand new. Adjustable bar positions and 3 different rubber mount compounds (soft, medium, hard). So far so good.
