How does the SSS work? what's going on inside the carb?

Does RB install a second fuel/air screw or do you just keep turning the stock screw out past 2 turns? Is there some kind of fuel emulsification going on? What makes this work the way it does??

The existing internal pilot circuitry is hand worked to be mo better. If I knew how it worked I'd do it myself. :D
