Should I get a second air striker?

Post by SteveWR450f »

Have two bikes - 03 and 04 KDX 220.

Son rides the 03. Both essentially setup the same, rev pipe, vforce reeds.
03 has oem carb modded by RB as well as head.

04 bike has air striker carb and head mod. 04 bike sounds deeper, a little more grunt, and overall little more power.

Both silencers freshly repacked. The mod on my 04 head is likely more agressive.

Is this just the difference in the head mod or does the carb striker make that much of a difference? I occasionally ride my sons bike and he is getting better so want the bikes to peform close to the same.
I thought air striker just made the carb less effected by temp and elevation. But what do I know.

When I upgraded my 04, I did the carb and head at same time so hard to tell which one made a difference.
WR sold. Now have 03 and 04 KDX 220s.
KXF 250 forks. RB Carb and Head. FMF rev pipe. Long live the KDX !!!

Thats funny. I might have to try that if he gets any faster. I used to be able to gap him whenever I wanted. Now that he is 18 and I am 41 its starting to go the other way.

I didn't see a difference between the stock PWK and the air stryker
after both were modified.......Except spooge from the air stryker.
If I were to do it again I would just get the PWK modified and spend
the other 150.00 on something else.
