RB Carb and Head Q&A

Post by Kenman »

Hey everyone I'm glad to finally find a place where I can get some help. I recently bought a 2002 kdx 200 and love it. The guy I bought it from seemed pretty able he put a k&n filter on it along with v force 3 reeds and new piston and rings. The bike runs great except the fact that it spits and dribbles oil out the pipe and will sometimes oil foul a plug is this a jetting issue or something else? Thanks for any imput

Assuming the engine is in good mechanical condition, it sounds like you need to jet it correctly. Here is a guide to get you through it: http://kdxrider.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=105&t=1156 Also, there is some rather heated debate as to whether the K&N filters are good for a dirt bike or not. Read one of them here: http://kdxrider.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=105&t=12711 Plus, you can find many more of them on any dirt bike forum!

BTW, welcome to the forum! :partyman:

Like he said.

Also it wouldn't be a bad idea to watch the transmission oil level and make sure that the right crank seal isn't leaking letting in more oil. But it is probably just in need of jetting.
