Sensitivity?

Post by SS109 »

I tried searching, guys, I swear! I remember someone talking about one of the RB mods making the jetting more sensitive. Was it the head or carb mod or both? Thanks!

it's the carb.
I dunno if it's more "sensitive", I'd call it more "tuneable" than stock.

It's more tuneable and more sensitive (finicky). Seems like it needs to be adjusted several times a ride on some days. As the temperature or elevation changes the bike likes it when you reach down and tickle the air screw just a bit.

I have found that you can get it spot on one day and the next it will need to be played with. It's not a big deal and it will run just fine and make good power with out the constant adjustment but it is there if you need it.

One thing that I have found to be odd is everyone says that you need to jet and adjust it differently but NO ONE can tell you what that means.

Head mod alone on my bike made the jetting more "sensitive". Needs to be jetted closer to perfect to run well now. Which is fine, because post mod running well is > than pre-mod running well.

some days it's harder to find the SSS but you usually only have to move the screw a couple $#@& hairs to find it again

Man, I really wish mine was done so I could ride my RB equipped KDX.

I haven't touched the air screw since day one with my E-Hybrid with RB mods. Best running 2-stroke I've owned. It might run even better with some fiddling and looking for the SSS, but much like the female orgasm, I believe the SSS doesn't exist)

Just kidding about the SSS. I totally believe you guys, but my motorcycle senses are so dull that I'll never find it. Plus, it runs so well now I don't want to mess with a good thing.
