Post by riggy »

I am getting ready to get some new tires has anyone used the pirelli scorpion soft front tires & rear medium ? or the irc volcanduro "s ? I am leaning towards the pirelli for the fact I can get a softer front tire than the irc . anyone have any recomendations on a brand or anything they like ? I ride woods and mx . Thanks , James

I've been 100% sold on Maxxis tires for some time now. For a loam or mud track tire I like the Sur-Cross and for a all around tire, say off road with a variety of terrain the IT's work great. The Sur-Cross doesn't wear the greatest but I never expect a soft tire to last any way. The IT's have a pretty good wear life. The Sur's run under $95. for a pair and the IT's under $120 from Rocky Mountain.
04 KX-250 Hey.....at least it's green and smokes.
06 KDX-200 for off road play. Gone but not forgotten
07 KX-250F SOLD! I thump no more.

I've tried lots of different tires.

I keep coming back to the Michelin S-12 in front, Pirelli in the back.

Maybe I need to try more.............?

I don't know.
The 220 I just bought has a S12 on the front, and holy cow that thing turns.

I've been running Dunlop D756's on the front and rear for about 10 years. They hook up and wear really well. RMATV is running a special on them right now....98 bucks for the set!
