Best Action Camera

Post by Gotanubike »

Depending on quality of the cam and recording bitrate/writespeed, I think Class 6 or higher micro SD are recommended.

I ordered one of these "Xiaomi Yi" cams a few days ago as I heard they are the best value performance cam. They record 2k resolution @ 30fps, 1080p@60fps , 720p@120fps, 480@240fps. And they're only $65! Wow

The thing is they are kind of officially exclusive to the Chinese and asian markets as there's no Xiaomi retailers in north America. Xiaomi is supposedly Chinese Apple and 3rd largest maker of smartphones.

The cam's firmware and image colour balance settings are all customizable via .txt scripts placed on the sd card, as well as the bitrates(speed of image processing) can be boosted

I bought a Drift Ghost HD. Awesome camera and cheaper than GoPro. Better image quality IMO and I like the waterproof without the case. Rotatable lens plus video tagging so you don't have hours if boring video to sift through.

I reset the whole thing and it seems to work on my 2 GB sandisk card but NOT on the 32 GB chinacard

when it does work the videos will play in anything, windows media player, quicktime or VLC

I thought of getting another roam but the person I bought it from only had the watersports packaged roam and with the company going belly up I wasn't sure if I wanted to deal with that

so on a side note, if anyone needs a gogglemount for the roam hit me up, ill let mine go at cost :shh:
This is a great point! I took a china card with me on my last trip because i couldn't find my good one...turns out it was still in the card slot in my laptop... every video over a minute long was corrupted when I went to replay them
