Help? Jets seem small....

Post by Dallas Longhorn »

I have a '95 kdx 200 and just took my carb apart after 13 years while putting new 607 reeds in. Bike seemed a little "flat" on the top end so decided to check on the jetting... To my surprise the main is a 145, the pilot is a 42 and the needle is an R1173L. Bike has a pro circuit pipe and silencer and Im about sea level. I am the second owner so who knows what happened before I bought it! Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks

Probably pretty close for TX. Do a compression check, along with following the above guide to get a plug chop done on your main.

Thanks guys, will do the plug chop.... Just can't believe there's a 145 main in there when the stock is supposed to be 160, unless I'm missing something.

HOLY PROPER JETTING!!! Thanks to INDAWOODS and the informative "how to jet" I have a totally new bike. After a few plug chops, decided on a 160 main/42 pilot and WOW the front tire rarely touches the ground, very reminiscent of the KX500 I had back in the day.... Now back to my fork conversion!

I'm actually in Phoenix and yes went up from 145, 152, 155 and stopped at 160 after I got the shock of my life! Bike literally increased in power by 40%.... didn't realize until I bought a KX125 to rob the forks from how much of a dog my bike was! I'm back in love with it now and can continue on with my fork conversion and of course sell that pesky 125!!
