Jetting For G-force 3 reeds

Post by Moneymike40 »

Hello,

I recently purchased a 91 kdx 200. It has a fmf pipe with factory silencer. G-force 3 reeds. I don't think the carb is jetted right for the reeds and I am wondering how it should be set. I also need to know how to clean the kips valve.

Should I cut the factory silencer shorter its about 13-15 inches long now but not very loud :).

Thanks mike

v-force?

There shouldn't be much need for jetting changes for reeds alone. Most likely it's jetted incorrectly to begin with. It would be impossible to guess without more info.

temp
elevation
current jetting
symptoms causing you to suspect jetting issues

No, you should not cut the silencer. Why the heck would you want it to be loud??

Oh, welcome to the forum!

I suspected it to be jetted wrong because I keep fouling plugs. It may also be the kips valve but i am not sure how to clean them with out the manual.

The manual should be your first purchase. Look at the top right or left corners of this page.
