1986 kdx200 needle

Post by rmiles87 »

My needle is broken on my 86 kdx200, i am having the hardest time finding a replacement. Does anyone know where i can get a new needle?
And if it isnt OEM what i could replace the stock one with. Thanks.

You can get one from a kawasaki dealer or sudco, is it the float needle or carb needle, if you want a new carb needle I suggest getting a different needle than the stock one, the E series KDX's often use cgk needles which are better than stock needles, I am not sure what needles fit the 86 carbs.

There is a Keihin equivalent to the Kawasaki stock needle. You show the Kaw part number... but what is the description that it's referencing?

Hmmm.... sounds fat on the Main side and lean on the pilot side.

Best thing would be to pull the main and pilot jet out of the carb and see what they say....

But from what info I can get on that carb and the application.... you should try a 6DH3

It won't cost but a few bucks to try it.

i emailed the mikuni guys and they had me measure my needle and they let me know which one it was.

it was the 6n1 for future reference.

I will let you know if it fits right or not when it gets here.

Also i am planning on making a few of them on my own if this one dosent fit. should be fun.
