Hi,
Restoring a aircooled KDX 200 C3? (black engine, front disc, Mikuni carb) Carb is missing the airscrew and found a replacement carb

Just get the replacement airscrew for your carb. It's cheaper and most of those Chinese Mikuni copies are garbage.

After cleaning and inspection it appears the Mikuni VM34SS round slide carb as fitted to the Australian bikes has no air screw.

The VM34SS on the USA 1986 and 1987 models does not have an air screw.

My '87 KDX80 also lacks an air screw. It seems pretty weird to me for a carb to be lacking this important tuning mechanism. I imagine that it would be a good upgrade to swap to a similar Mikuni carb that has an air screw. I'll probably do that to my 80 at some point.
And I agree that the Chinese copy-carbs are junk. Avoid them at all costs.
