needle clip

Post by brian1014 »

Hey guys, goona be buying some new jets for mah bike 155,152 mains and 42,45 pilots. All stock cept for airbox. Just wondering how you change the clip position on the carb? I want to change it to second from top like most but I cannot figure it out for the life of me. Also if anyone has input on jets for riding 0-2000 ft? Figured around 155/45. Thanks

I'm at +700 ft altitude, and I've found the 155 to be too lean. I went back to 160, but 158 seems to be fine as well. My bike still has a slight burble at 0-1/8 throttle even with a 42 pilot, so I'd get a 40 or 38 in case if I were you. All this without the airbox lid, by the way.

Separate the slide from the throttle cable and the needle slides up through the top of the slide then you can adjust the clip position

Don't forget a 6mm socket to remove the grey needle holder from the slide! Just unscrew it and the needle will come out. Good luck!

and be sure to use a six-sided socket/nut driver, not an open-end wrench

And don't tighten the cable holder nut! (the 6 mm needle holder.) Just snug is more then enough. MORE then enough..... Yes, fine if you must know I have been thru a few.... And a good tight fitting 6 mm 6 point socket.

Ok ill make sure to tighten it good, what would you guys recommend for jetting, is there any jetting charts to show what jets are best for what altitude/temp? Ill jet for the summer so around 500-2500 ft possibly haha, and around 70farenheit or 22 celsius. Thanks guys!
