Fuel Coming out of Overflow

Post by OldRedd »

Hey all,
Over the weekend I was out on the ol' KDX and had noticed that when the bike is tipped at an angle that fuel flows freely out of the overflow of the carb. I originally thought the float was stuck, but I cleaned the entire carb and replaced it and it still does the same thing. Is this normal? Then I thought, well maybe this occures because if you drop the bike it prevents the carb from flooding? :?

The overflow is there to prevent the bowl from overfilling. If it pees when you lean it over, you can adjust the float to lower the fuel level in the bowl slightly. If it only pees when you lean it WAY over, it's fine like it is.

I'v also seen that happen if the vent tube on top of the tank is plugged.
