You are right... they are finally making it to eBay! I may look into them... I prefer conventionals but it was not feasable when I did mine.

Are those 49mm?

I still think 46mm is about perfect for the KDX.

49mm on a pig of a bike like the DRZ proly works great.....

The 96-98 RM 125-250's used the 49mm coventionals, once revalved probably the best woods forks ever used on a japanese bike. I have a set mounted on a CRF250X that were revalved by Drew Smith (WER) and they have been worth all the hassles required to mount them. If you're looking to buy a set, try to find a set from a 98 as they had upgraded slider bushings. I am about to begin a KDX hybrid project and I intend to use a set of these forks on it. My hybrid project is how I happened to find this site and has been helpful thusfar!

BTW, the DRZ and the 96-98 RM forks are only the same externally, internally the RM's are twin chamber, the DRZ's are not.

When it comes to woods suspension... all the tricky stuff can be forgot about. A primative system is all that is needed. In my experience anyway... all the trick stuff is just another thing to have to deal with.

I agree its like the ktm people perfer the open chamber forks to closed chamber ones for nasty root infested single track and closed for faster whooped out riding.

The cool thing about the newer forks, in theory, is that you can potentially get them nice and plush in the shorter stroke, and still be able to take a huge jump. The older KYB's work great though. The factory forks/shock on my WR were straight YZ. They rock for high-speed open stuff right out of the box, but will kill you in the woods. I scored a full set of pro-action valved forks/shock setup for woods (even my weight) on ebay for $150. They are nice and plush, but still take adjustments and hits well, but are SCARY above 30mph. Takes about 30mins top to switch the whole shebang out.

Those DRZ forks can be setup anyway you like them.... woods to MX. And, they're simple. Hope you pull this off. It would be a great alternative to the KX forks.
