KX forks, KDX brakes?

I'm looking for some input on how to run the KDX brake line with KX forks. I have a set of 2000 KX 250 forks and need to use my KDX brakes to get the job done. By the way, has any one ever noticed how much bigger the front caliper from a KDX is compared to a KX?

Don't have any direct pictures of the line routing at the moment, but maybe this will give you an idea..

Drilled 2 holes on the fork guard and zip tied the line to it.
The caliper is the same on a KX or KDX (except for the line mount/route), I just exchanged the KDX hanger for the KX piece.

I have been looking at some parts pages to see if I can find any fork guards with the brake line clamp mount built in. The 96 cr250 uses what appears to be the same forks by looking at a parts break down. The 2004 KX forks look very simular to the 2000 KX 250 forks I am using. The internals are somewhat different but the same basic idea. Dose any one know if ether of these are a direct bolt on or any thing that is? I don't mind so much a little hole adjustment but I don't want to have to duct tape them on.

I'm working on the same problem. I used 2000 KX125 forks and had already looked at the breakdown on the 2004's. If it is the ones I am thinking it is, the mounting points are in different location. Look at the bottom on the diagrams. I believe one had two bolts on front with one of the side and the other was one bolt on front with two on the side. I have not figured out what I am going to do quite yet.

See this:

2007 250f fork guards seem to work.

I found this link off the above ThumperTalk page.

I think I may go this route. I don't really like having to leave one of the bolts out on each leg when using the newer KX/F fork guards.

If you are referring to my link, I believe those guards are for a 2005 RM250. I don't have have any in hand so I can not verify yet.

I've seen some good brake line clamps somewhere that you can use with your current guards.. The ones I'm referring to were a rivet-on type but I cant remember who had them.

This link may help. I'm sure there are better sources but I figured this may help or at least give you an idea.

This is the closest thing to what I'm talking about that I can find.

You can use your stock KDX brake line clamp.

This took me all of 20 minutes to make.

Small lightweight angle riveted to the guard. Used the KDX hose clamps.

Looks like it was supposed to be there.
