'99 KX forks - which years use the same upper triple clamp?

Post by jploski »

I might be getting a set of '99 KX125 forks for my 2001 KDX220 conversion. However, the seller has an aftermarket upper triple clamp for 1 1/8" bars...but I want to keep my 7/8" bars. So I decided to start looking for a stock upper triple clamp for the '99 KX forks. What other model years use the same upper? I found a good deal on an upper clamp from a 2001 KX125. Will they work?

Not sure what's going on here??? Can't you just change out the bar mounts on that "aftermarket upper triple clamp"?

Actually, the 1 1/8" bars are probably better than 7/8" bars. I have 7/8" Renthal bars on my CR250. My son has 1 1/8" Pro Taper bars on his CR250. Those 1 1/8" Pro Taper bars have taken some hits that probably would have turned my 7/8" Renthal bars into a twisted mess. I'm currently gathering parts for / working on converting the front end on our KDX to a CR250 front end. I'll be using 1 1/8" Pro Taper bars on it.
2000 KDX200 / 2002 CR250 / 2003 CR250 / 2008 TT-R230 / 2011 Brute Force 750 / 2012 Brute Force 750 EPS
