Front end swap

Post by bezoar »

Looking at a 2000 KX 500 front end to swap out on a 2004 KDX 200. My question is what differences in the steering geometry if any can I expect?

The KX forks are probably touch longer. You can make up for most of it by sliding the forks up in the triples. You'll also have to extend the steering stop to prevent the larger triples from hitting the tank, so you'll lose a tiny bit of turning radius. That's pretty much it, it's well worth it. The kx5 front end is a great choice. If you get the whole front end it's pretty much bolt on and go!

Thanks, now just a matter of finding one. There are alot more 125.250's than 500's out there
